PITAYA (Dragon Fruit) 

The Pitaya or commonly known as Dragon Fruit is a stunningly beautiful fruit with an intense color and shape, magnificent flowers and a delicious taste.  Round, often red colored fruit with prominent scales and thin rind, enclosed the large mass of sweetly flavored white or red pulp sprinkled with tiny edible black seeds. When ripe, the fruit  peels as easily as a banana. 

Once only seen in the finest restaurants, it is fast becoming common place throughout Asia, Canada, and Europe as a magnificent garnish and delicious fresh fruit. 

The Pitaya or Dragon fruit flesh can be sparkling white to a deep iridescent magenta color, all to varying degrees dependant upon variety.  The red fleshed varieties contain lycopene which is a natural antioxidant known to fight cancer, heart disease, and lower blood pressure.  Despite the health benefits and it spectacular appearance, the fruit has gone virtually unnoticed for centuries. 

WHAT WE OFFER:

ORGANIC Pitaya (Dragon fruit), grown with organic fertilizer in an organic environment.  We do not use any pesticides or chemicals. 

HYLOCEREUS undatus

The color of the skin is a beautiful smooth crimson skin with exotic green fins and with a translucent white flesh and tiny black edible seeds.

 
HYLOCEREUS polyrhizus

Some what smaller fruit with red skin and dark red flesh with small black edible seeds. 

SELENICEREUS megalanthus

Has yellow skin and clear to white flesh containing edible black seeds.  It is a smaller fruit and has a higher level of sugar. 

PRODUCTION IS AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING  OCTOBER THRU FEBRUARY.

Sell organic seedlings and cuttings to local and international buyers.
